Making God's Love Visible
Since 1996 SAT-7 has been working to illuminate countries in the Middle East and North Africa with God’s love. The ministry currently has four channels (SAT-7 ARABIC, SAT-7 PARS, SAT-7 KIDS and SAT-7 TÜRK), each of which holds to a similar ethos - show viewers God’s love, give local churches in the region a satellite TV platform to educate and encourage their communities, combat misconceptions about the Christian faith in the region, work inter-denominationally, and foster bridges of understanding with the much larger non-Christian majority without compromising the truth of God’s Word.
Since the first program aired in 1996, SAT-7 broadcasts have brought quality Christian television programming directly into millions of homes throughout the Middle East and North Africa. SAT-7 airs in Arabic, Farsi, and Turkish languages to a known audience of over 21 million viewers!
In a region characterized by high illiteracy rates, media censorship, and limited incomes, anyone with a satellite dish can turn on SAT-7 and hear the Word of God in his or her language. Our viewers can join a global fellowship of Christians within the privacy of their own homes – a significant concern for those who live in violence-stricken or oppressive environments. Audience Relations Specialists are available throughout the region to counsel and pray with viewers.
The Mission and Vision were developed by the ministry's Partners (individuals, Churches and ministries located across the world) and it’s International Board of Directors, the majority of whom must be local Christian leaders living in the Middle East or North Africa. This International Board is the owner of the ministry and sets its core policy and goals.
The SAT-7’s head office is in Cyprus with ministry offices and studios in Cyprus, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt and London. It also has fundraising support offices in Europe, the UK, Canada, the USA, Brazil and SA. SAT-7 has more than 100 local staff working in its offices in the Middle East.
The Middle East and North Africa is a complex part of the world. Poverty, war, ethnic division, illiteracy, and political and religious oppression are a daily reality for millions. People are desperate for hope.
In many areas, the potential for the local church to be the bringer of hope is severely hampered. In several countries, like Iran, Christians face significant challenges.
Through the power of satellite television, available to all, we are bringing a message of hope and love directly into the lives of millions of people, every day.
Our channels bypass strict government censorship and side-step the challenge of illiteracy. Viewers are drawn to our high-quality programming and a hope-filled view of the world. Our channels are welcomed into the very heart of the family home, again and again.
With your help, we are doing something remarkable - we are making the invisible visible.
A thoughtful ethos makes SAT-7 a unique television ministry in the region:
• Over 80% of SAT-7 programs are created and produced by an interdenominational group of Middle Eastern and North African Christians.
• SAT-7 programs are apolitical, culturally sensitive, and non-violent.
• SAT-7 does not attack other religions, so viewers from all religious backgrounds can engage in true and trustworthy presentations of the Gospel.
• All broadcasts are free to air for viewers. SAT-7 receives its support from friends of the ministry.
